Virtual numbers your product owns,
not numbers you rent from a portal
Telephone numbers held on your account, carrying calls and SMS in both directions, in the United Kingdom and the United States. You verify the business once, order in your portal, and the numbers are typically issued within 48 hours.
Sandbox profiles are simulated and cost nothing. No card, no commitment.
WHO IT IS FOR
For products that need a number of their own
Not a number a person owns and forwards. A number the product holds, controls and can hand back.
A test number costs nothing and waits for nobody. Build the whole integration before anyone verifies anything.
HOW YOU GET A NUMBER
Verified once, then ordered in the portal
Stated by the founder. Everything else on this page is drafting.
- Calls and SMS
- Inbound and outbound.
- Markets at launch
- The United Kingdom and the United States. What each market permits is stated against the number you are asking for, before you commit to it.
- Verified first
- We verify the business. It is asked once for the account, at the point you first open a capability that needs it, and never again.
- Ordered in the portal
- You order numbers through a simple process in your portal. There is no customer-facing ordering API at launch.
- What you see next
- The portal shows: Order received. Numbers being provisioned.
- When they arrive
- You are notified when the numbers are ready, and you access them in your portal. Numbers are typically issued within 48 hours.
WORKS WITH
A number is not a silo
The same key, the same event envelope and the same invoice as everything else on the account.
QUESTIONS
Virtual numbers in practice
Can I try it before any of that?
Yes. Sandbox and test numbers require no verification of any kind, and a test key reaches them the moment the account exists. Build the whole integration first.
What has to happen before I get a real number?
We verify the business. It is asked once for the account, at the point you first open a capability that needs it, and never again for anything else you switch on later.
How do I order numbers?
Through a simple process in your portal. There is no customer-facing ordering API at launch. The portal shows Order received, numbers being provisioned, and you are notified when they are ready.
How long does it take?
Numbers are typically issued within 48 hours. Your portal shows where a particular order has got to.
Are the two markets the same?
What a number does is calls and SMS, in and out. What a given market permits, and what it asks for first, is stated against the number you are asking for. Do not assume the two are identical.
Be told when numbers open
No approval step and nothing to sign. The sandbox is open now, and production access opens in the order requests arrive.
